About this event
Pool sessions are a great time and allow you to work on your skills over the fall and winter in the comfort of a heated pool. This is a great setting to learn to roll, practice rescues, improve your strokes or just have fun.
Each week's pool session will have a 20-30 minute mini-lesson. Each mini-lesson will highlight one skill for the week. This week's mini lesson will be an alternative T-Rescue taught by Dan Morrison. This is a variation on the T-Rescue which Dan learned while in Ireland this past summer.
There will be a rolling instructor stationed in the shallow end of the pool to help you learn or improve your rolling skills.
Important Notes:
1) Pool registration opens on Monday two weeks ahead of the pool session date.
2) If you successfully registered for the previous session, please do not register until Friday for the next session to give others a chance to register.
3) Arrive at 10 AM to unload and stage your kayak and gear. Doors open at 10:15 AM.
4) Life jackets must be worn at all times while in the pool.
5) For safety, the pool prohibits standing in your kayak.
6) Pool sessions are for sea kayaks (no whitewater kayaks, recreational kayaks, SUPs, etc.) A sea kayak is defined as 14 ft or longer, with a keyhole or ocean style cockpit, has bulk heads or float bags and has perimeter deck lines.
7) In order to protect the pool equipment, clean your boat before bringing it to the pool. No sand, mud, leaves should be in or on your boat.
8) You must be an active ISK member to attend the pool session.
