Join Inland Sea Kayakers’ Annual Cold Water Workshop event. This is a good event to start your paddling season. 

You will have the opportunity to do the following in cold water and in a controlled environment:

• Learn about the dangers and symptoms of Hypothermia
• Get advice on cold water gear
• Test your gear for the season
• See what it is like to be in cold water
• Practice:
  • Wet exits
  • T-rescues
  • Self-Rescues
  • Rolling

Required gear:

• Kayak with bulkheads (or float bags) and deck lines
• Spray skirt
• Paddle
• PFD
• Immersion wear – a dry suit is HIGHLY recommended, wet suit is minimum. Warm shoes, gloves, head gear, underlayers, etc.
• Paddle float
• Pump
• Whistle
• Water bottles
• Extra dry clothes and jacket
• Food and warm drinks
