About this event

ISK pool sessions are back! Come join us on Saturdays from 1 pm to 3 pm at the Kenwood Trail Middle School in Lakeville to practice your kayaking skills.

Pool sessions are a great time and allow you to work on your skills over the winter in the comfort of an indoor pool. This is a great setting to learn to roll, practice rescues, improve your strokes and just have fun.

Each week’s pool session will have a 20 minute mini-lesson highlighting a  “skill of the week”. There will also be a rolling instructor stationed in the shallow end of the pool to help you learn or improve your rolling skills.

The Kenwood Train Middle School pool building is on the south end of the main school building. Parking is located just outside the pool on the front side of the school building. The doors open at 1 pm to bring in the kayaks.

This week’s mini-lesson will be Sculling for Support taught by Nick Reinders.

Important Notes:

  1. You must be an active ISK member to attend the pool sessions.
  2. You must be an ACA (American Canoe Association) member and have an annual digital liability waiver on file. This is required for insurance purposes. You will be required to provide your ACA number when registering for the session.
  3. Pool registration opens on Monday two weeks ahead of the pool session date.
  4. If you successfully registered for the previous session, please do not register until Friday for the next session to give others a chance to register.
  5. Arrive between 12:30 and 12:45 to unload and stage your kayak and gear near the door. Doors open at 1 pm.
