Inland Sea Kayakers is excited to bring you our first Service Trip! We will be camping on the North Shore, paddling the Lake Superior Water Trail, and best of all, giving back to our beautiful wilderness!

Ellingson Island

As sea kayakers and outdoors people, we can probably all say we go to our Happy Place when we’re out enjoying nature. Whether we’re happiest on the water or in the forest, we benefit tremendously from Minnesota’s wild places and the campgrounds and services provided by our DNR.

Let’s give back to Lake Superior, the North Shore, and the MN DNR!

ISK is partnering with Split Rock State Park to show our appreciation to our beloved Lake Superior. We will be putting our paddling skills to good use and cleaning up the shoreline along Split Rock and Ellingson Island. We will have a dry plan for our service day if conditions do not allow for safe paddling.

We have the group site at Tettagouche State Park and will shuttle down to Split Rock for our service project.

We will also have a full day for paddling fun! We will set out to explore the North Shore Water Trail together. The view of Palisade Head from the water is bound to be stunning!

Non-paddling family are welcome to camp with us and enjoy the North Shore on their own while we are on the water. Registration fees apply to cover the cost of camping.

*This trip is open to all levels of paddlers with the caveat that we will be on Lake Superior. As with our Rendezvous trips, you must demonstrate your T rescue abilities before the trip, be comfortable with conditions that may arise, willing to opt out of a paddle if necessary, and able to respect trip leader decisions about conditions and safety.
