Just about anyone can get into a kayak and paddle away, but efficiency and correct body use are essential to paddling for hours at a time with ease and grace and at a faster pace. A truly effective forward stroke takes most of us years to master. In this class we'll take the stroke apart, starting with exercises on the ground working on our form and theory. Then we move to the water and into our kayaks.

If you're new to kayaking, this class will get you off to a better start and reduce the amount of un-learning of forward stroke you have to do down the road. If you've been paddling for years but never really thought about your forward stroke or if you have trouble keeping up with others, this class will give you a chance to take a fresh look at your stroke and how it can be more efficient. If you teach, this class can help you teach and model forward stroke.
