Our goal will be to find suitable moving water, such as a local river with eddy lines and/or standing waves.  We'll start learning how to read the water and work with it, while covering eddy line crossings, ferries, and ranges.  These are skills you'll want on local rivers, and they transfer to paddling in currents on the ocean. Oh, and they're fun!

If suitable moving water is not available, this class will focus on boat control and the sorts of skills one might use for rock gardening, and/or other class requests.

Helmets required.  Expect to spend time in the water.

Prerequisites:
  • Forward Stroke 1
  • Core Paddling 1
  • Self and assisted rescue
  • Comfortable swimmer

If you believe you have equivalent alternative experience, contact Peggy before registering.
